Specific learning outcomes of the programme

The core learning outcomes specified in the university degree class regulations are achieved by a varied course curriculum which aims to produce experts with both a solid theoretical, methodological and technological background, and specific practical skills deriving from targeted project activities which are an integral part of the degree programme. The set of knowledge and skills acquired allow the graduates to take part in all activities concerning the development of even highly complex systems, processes and services in the specific field of computer engineering and in other contexts in which information technologies play an important role.

In an organic and integrated vision, particular emphasis is placed on the development of specialist skills in the field of programming languages and computational paradigms, design of software and architecture for processing systems, operating systems, information systems, distributed systems and computer networks, information security technologies, artificial intelligence, real-time processing and monitoring systems, as well as the organisation, management and optimisation of technological innovation processes.

The curriculum leaves ample room for customisation, with just a few mandatory course units in basic studies, completing practical knowledge, management skills and the English language to level B2. Students can therefore choose from a wide range of practical computer studies in the following specific ICT sectors:

Information Systems,

Distributed systems,

Mobile systems,

Artificial intelligence,

Multimedia systems,

Industrial computing.

The School of Engineering and Architecture allows students to perform an internship in order to get credits (CFU) included in the study plan according to the rules set by the degree programmes.
‘Curricular' internship is a learning activity included in the study plan. It can be compulsory or elective, depending on the degree programme, and can be performed both in Universities or other organizations, in Italy or abroad. Some degree programmes allow students to perform internships in preparation for the final thesis.
Graduates within 12 months after graduation are offered the possibility to perform an ‘orientation' internship in order to get a deeper knowledge of the work field.
