69429 - VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY M

Scheda insegnamento

Academic Year 2017/2018

Learning outcomes

Aim of the course is to present the main phases leading to the realization of a measurement system employing the most advanced technologies. To this purpose each detail is considered; from the design of the trasducer interface to the correct processing and storage of signals. A relevant amount of time is dedicated to a basic course of LabVIEW and data acquisition using DAQ cards and benchtop instruments.

Course contents

Lectures

Design of the measurement system. Selection criteria, performance analysis and discussion. Interfacing of benchtop instruments, DAQ cards, embedded system, VXI, PXI.

Signal conditioning: DiffAmp and InAmp. charge amplifiers, I/V converters. Data sheets analysis and discussion. Selection criteria. Interface issues.

Cabling: grounding, shielding, noise reduction techniques.
